Professional Experience

Mr. Tanner has extensive experience counseling and representing private and public sector labor unions in litigation, arbitration, unfair labor practice cases, representation proceedings, and contract negotiations. He also has a diverse employment law practice representing employees in employment discrimination, retaliation, whistleblower, contract, and tort cases. His notable labor and employment cases include Int’l Ass’n of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, Local Lodge 2121 v. Goodrich Corp. (5th Circuit), cert. denied, 126 S. Ct. 647 (2005), and Aiello v. United Air Lines, 818 F.2d 1196 (5th Cir. 1987). He also has extensive complex litigation experience including RICO cases and employment discrimination class actions. Mr. Tanner has written many scholarly papers and he has spoken frequently before professional, labor, and business groups on subjects ranging from the National Labor Relations Act to non-competition agreements. He is co-editor and a contributing author of Texas Employment Law (James Publishing Inc. 2019).
